Hammie passed away peacefully on January 29, 2014 in Blomidon Nursing Home, New Minus.

Born January 18, 1934 in Yarmouth he was the son of the late Lloyd and Gladys ( Trefry) Hamilton. Warren was a loving father, grandfather and devoted husband. Warren was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces where he served his country for 32 years. After retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces he returned to Raynardton, Yarmouth County where he resided. During this time he worked for the Yarmouth Regional Hospital and YACRO, with special needs clients. Warren was an avid sportsman, hunter and fisherman who shared his passion with many friends at camp or around a salmon pool. He enjoyed a good yarn and never missed coffee with friends. In his later years Warren moved to Dartmouth, N.S. where he regularly attended the Woodlawn United Church and lived in the Parkland on the Lakes Complex where he enjoyed shooting pool. Warren is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Joyce (Nickerson) as well as his son Wayne (Sandra), Kentville , N.S. and daughter Wendy Hennick (Ernie), Dartmouth, N.S.; three grandchildren, Katie Hamilton, Kentville; Brett and Daniel Hennick, Dartmouth. He was predeceased by his sister Jan (Earl), Greenfield, Shelburne, N.S. He will be missed by many nephews, nieces and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, February 3, 2014 at 2:00p.m. from the Yarmouth North Baptist Church, Rev. Shawn Kehoe Officiating. There will be a spring interment in the Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
